What is Farm Management?

Farm Management is where everything else starts. Before you can order a map, run a soil sample, or calculate a carbon footprint, Spacenus needs to know what farms and fields you're working with, what's growing where, and when.

What it does for you

Think of it as your digital record of the physical farm: the farms and fields you operate, the boundary of each field, the seasons you plant across, the crops and cultivations within each season, and the fertilization events you record against them.

• Farms and Fields give every piece of land a place in the system, with its exact boundary mapped out.
• Seasons mark the growing periods you plant across — a season isn't tied to a single field, so the same season can span your whole operation.
• Crops and Cultivations record what's actually growing, tying a crop to a specific field within a specific season.
• Fertilization tracks what's been applied, and to which cultivation.

Why it matters

Everything downstream depends on this foundation. A precision-farming map needs a field boundary to know where to look. A soil-sampling plan needs an area of interest built from your fields. A carbon assessment needs to know which farm or field it's assessing, and often draws on the crop and fertilization history you've already recorded here.
